My baby wasn’t transferring enough milk and I also had open sores on my nipples that wouldn’t go away. Christy was able to identify that my baby had a tongue tie (which the pediatrician had clipped but not enough). After getting his frenectomy, my baby was a nursing machine and did wonderful! As for my nipples, after 2 months of painful sores, Christy was able to identify that I likely had a bacterial infection. I went to my OB and found out it was a staff infection. After a quick round of antibiotics my nipples were healed. I had honestly tried everything under the sun to heal them and NOTHING worked. It was such a relief to finally get them all healed up!!!
[The lactation consultation] was EXTREMELY informative. Christy was able to identify the issues we were facing and come up with solutions. It gave us so much hope. She was also very, very patient and worked with both me and my baby wonderfully. Breastfeeding can be very hard but if you work at it, you can achieve your breastfeeding goals. It may sound cheesy but I learned to not give up. Now my baby is almost 4 months old and we are successfully breastfeeding.
