In-home IBCLC Lactation Consultation: $149 

ChristyPrice includes an initial consultation within Salt Lake County lasting about 2 hours and text/phone support for questions or concerns for up to a month following your consultation. Any supplies provided during your consultation are included for no extra charge.

During your initial consultation I will:

  • Ask about you and your baby’s health history, and discuss what affects this may have on breastfeeding
  • Ask you to tell me about your baby’s birth, including any difficulties you may have experienced
  • Discuss how breastfeeding has been going, and ask about your breastfeeding goals
  • Examine and evaluate baby’s oral anatomy and sucking pattern
  • Examine your breasts and nipples, if there are concerns
  • Observe and evaluate a feeding from start to finish
  • Weigh the baby before the feeding
  • Weigh the baby after feeding to calculate how much milk the baby received
  • Observe and evaluate baby’s positioning and latch
  • Demonstrate and discuss breastfeeding techniques and positions, tailored to mother and baby’s specific situation
  • Suggest ways to improve baby’s latch, feeding and sucking, if needed
  • Evaluate current milk supply and discuss ways to adjust supply, if needed
  • Teach about alternative feeding methods and equipment, if needed
  • Teach use of a breast pump and storage of pumped milk, if applicable
  • Answer questions about breastfeeding or newborn care
  • Give referrals as needed
  • Develop a breastfeeding plan that will work for you

Please note, there is an additional $20 fee per visit for travel to Park City, Northern Utah County and Southern Davis County. Please contact me for specifics about travel fees to other areas.

In-home IBCLC Pumping and Return to Work Consultation: $119 

Price includes consultation within Salt Lake County lasting about 1 to 1 1/2 hours, and text/phone support for questions or concerns for a month following your consultation.

During your Pumping and Return to Work Consultation, I will:

  • Ask about you and your baby’s health history, and discuss what affects this may have on breastfeeding
  • Ask you to tell me about your baby’s birth, including any difficulties you may have experienced
  • Discuss how breastfeeding has been going, and ask about your breastfeeding goals
  • Evaluate current milk supply and discuss ways to adjust supply, if needed
  • Teach about alternative feeding methods and equipment, if needed
  • Teach use of a breast pump
  • Discuss which breast pump will work best for your intended use
  • Discuss storage of breast milk
  • Discuss how to give baby milk while you are separated in ways that are least likely to disrupt breastfeeding
  • Discuss how to maximize the amount of milk you are able to pump
  • Check the fit of your breast pump flanges
  • Check the suction level on your breast pump with a vacuum pressure gauge
  • Answer questions about breastfeeding or newborn care
  • Develop a pumping and return to work plan that will work for you

Price includes consultation within Salt Lake County lasting about 1 to 1 1/2 hours, and text/phone support for questions or concerns for a month following your consultation.

During your prenatal lactation consultation I will:

  • Ask about your health history, and discuss what affects this may have on breastfeeding
  • If this is not your first baby, discuss how breastfeeding went with previous children, and the possible reasons for any difficulties you experienced
  • If this is your first baby, discuss any family history of breastfeeding difficulties and any effects this may have on your breastfeeding experience
  • Ask about your breastfeeding goals
  • If there are concerns, examine your breasts and nipples and discuss ways to prepare your nipples for breastfeeding
  • Demonstrate and discuss breastfeeding techniques and positions, tailored to your specific situation
  • Discuss ways to handle potential complications in ways that will support breastfeeding
  • Teach about alternative feeding methods and equipment, if desired
  • Teach use of a breast pump and storage of pumped milk, if applicable
  • Discuss which breast pump will work best for your intended use
  • Discuss which breastfeeding products may be helpful to you
  • Answer questions about breastfeeding or newborn care
  • Develop a breastfeeding plan that will work for you
